TP Tools Auto-Darkening Welding Helmets have a filter lens which immediately darkens to the shade when an arc is detected. There's no need to flip the lens or bob your head. Just strike the arc, the rest is automatic. These helmets provide protection against IR and UV radiation when viewing through the filter. In event of a solar failure, the lens will remain dark to provide eye protection. Helmets feature adjustable ratchet-type head gear suspension with soft sweatbands, and auto 15-30-minute shutoff.
Has wide shade adjustment range (7-14), perfect for plasma cutting, arc, mig, tig, and flux core welding. Also has grinding mode. Easily-accessible control knobs on side adjust shades and sensitivity. Extra lightweight - only 1.30 lbs!
1.875" x 3.875" view lens is solar-powered, water- and dust-proof. No batteries to change, no tuning - simply adjust helmet to correct shade and start welding. Dual arc sensors give better arc detection. Built-in magnifier lens holder.
AUTO-DARKENING TERMS:
Switching Speed - The time it takes an auto-dark lens to change from light to dark.
Light State - The shade of the auto-dark lens when sitting idle. The lower the shade, the greater visibility you have when viewing through lens, prior to striking an arc. When welding in a dark, low-light area, this is extremely important.
Dark State - The shade of the auto-dark lens when activated.
Dark to Clear Delay - The time it takes for the auto-dark lens to go from the dark state to clear state. Useful when tack welding repetitively.
Sensitivity Adjustment - for fine-tuning the auto-dark lens for ambient light or arc intensity.
